Although the water colloid paste is a wet wound wet dressing, its permeability is also good. The complete state of the water colloid paste is not easy for water vapor to pass through, but when the process of becoming glue begins, the permeability of the dressing will increase. Too much water can be lost in the form of water vapor through the dressing, so the ability of the dressing to absorb exudate is enhanced. At the same time, the water colloid dressing can maintain a good wet environment, promote the dissolution of fibrous protein, angiogenesis and wound healing. Since the backing of the water colloid dressing is a semi-permeable material (usually polyurethane film), it can effectively prevent the invasion of bacteria and viruses from the outside, and has good waterproof performance, so both wet wounds and dry wounds can be easily adhered and fixed.
Transparent hydrocolloid dressing is a new type of wound dressing. Its main component is hydrophilic colloidal hydroxyethyl cellulose particles, which can form low tension oxygen locally, stimulate the release of macrophages and cytokines, promote local blood circulation, and accelerate the resolution of inflammation. The hydrocolloid dressing large is breathable but not waterproof, can block the microorganisms outside the skin, can absorb exudate, keep the puncture site dry, and reduce the chance of puncture point infection.
1. Selection and Use of Disinfectants for Water Colloid Wound Wet Dressing
According to the conventional operation procedure, if the skin disinfectant is 75% alcohol + iodine tincture, usually 3 alcohols + 3 iodine tinctures, after the skin is dry, it is fixed with moist dressings. However, for patients with contact dermatitis or skin damage, it is recommended not to use alcohol disinfection, but to use iodine tincture disinfection three times, after drying, use physiological saline cotton ball to clean up the iodine tincture, and then use water colloid dressing to fix it, which has better effect on the treatment of PICC contact dermatitis, and the fixation is more firm.
2. Cutting of Water Colloid Wound Wet Dressing
The size of the transparent hydrocolloid dressing that most hospitals can use is 10cm*10cm. For patients with concurrent contact dermatitis, their physique is also prone to allergies to PICC conduit materials. A 4cm*6cm transparent hydrocolloid ulcer paste can be padded under the conduit. However, not every hospital has this material, and in order to save material costs, the transparent hydrocolloid dressing can be cut into 8cm*10cm and 2cm*5cm*2 with sterile scissors, in which two small transparent hydrocolloid wound wet dressings are fixed under the conduit.
3. Fixation of Water Colloid Wound Wet Dressing
For example, the 8cm*10cm transparent hydrocolloid dressing is fixed on the PICC conduit. When fixing, pay attention to the hand method without tension, do not stretch the dressing, naturally lay down from the puncture point, smooth out from the center to the four sides, and press the edge of the dressing with the palm of the hand to make it fixed firmly. Among them, the conduit should be fixed with a high platform method and shaped to avoid compressing the skin. Then use low-sensitivity tape to fix the exposed conduit, the first cross fixation, the second one-word type fixation, try to fix the tape on the transparent hydrocolloid dressing, reduce the area of the tape touching the skin.
